What is it and where is it?
Cabo de Gata is a protected natural park, a UNESCO Biosphere in the far south of Spain in Almeria province.
It is an area of great natural beauty, formed eons ago by volcanic activity, a place where one of the few deserts in Europe meets clean waters of the sea.
An area rich in bio diversity consisting of 380 Sq Km of protected land and 120 Sq Km of protected waters as well as 50Km of the best preserved rocky Mediterranean European coastline.
There is so much for lovers of sun and nature to explore here. Kilometers of spectacular cliff top walks, the stark beauty of inland desert landscapes. A multitude of varied beaches, some only accessible on foot. Crystal clear waters, the cleanest in the Mediterranean where rare marine plants thrive. the historical villages, the ancient architecture, the volcanic heritage.
